OnePlus 12 CAD-based renders have surfaced today, revealing that the upcoming smartphone will be the company’s first to feature a periscope zoom camera. Rumors of such a camera have been making the rounds for a few months now, and it seems that the leaks are finally starting to confirm them. Aside from the periscope zoom, the renders don’t reveal much else about the device, so we’ll have to wait for additional leaks or OnePlus’s official announcement to find out more.

OnePlus has just announced their new camera module design for their upcoming phone, the OnePlus 12. This design is highly reminiscent of the OnePlus 11’s, just with alterations required by the presence of the periscope. The main and ultrawide sensors are on the top ‘row’ in the island, next to each other, while the periscope occupies the bottom ‘row’ all by itself. The Hasselblad collaboration is still going strong and the logo is in between these ‘rows’.
OnePlus is gearing up to launch its third flagship phone of the year, the OnePlus 7. The phone is expected to come with a 6.7″ QHD+ OLED display and a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. This will be a huge change for OnePlus, as even the 11 has the selfie camera on the left side.
OnePlus 12 most likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which is set to be unveiled in October. According to recent revelations, OnePlus 12 will have a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W or 150W fast wired charging support.
Rumor has it that the main and ultrawide cameras on the upcoming OnePlus 7 will both have 50 MP resolution, while the periscope zoom camera is rumored to have a 64 MP OmniVision sensor. Selfies are to be taken care of by a 32 MP snapper.
